The Flexible Nature of Time and Its Impact on Spiritual Growth

Time is a really flexible concept. It’s more about consciousness than the Spirit. It’s part of how we, as humans, think and act, which is why it can feel like time stretches or compresses. That’s why we organize our lives around calendars, hours, minutes, years, and so on.

In Kabbalah, this idea means that people are affected by certain laws and impulses that come from the realm of the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil. From that realm, there are a lot of false paths, trails, and ways to get lost. One of the biggest misconceptions is thinking that all paths lead to God. But the eternal path doesn’t go there—it’s different. The father of lies leads people toward a false eternity, built on the laws of good and evil. The father of time and the father of eternity are different. Time is just a passage, whereas the Tree of Life is beyond time and chaos. In Kabbalah, the “Black Lord” (symbolized by the serpent) cannot enter the Tree of Life because his ways aren’t accepted there.

As long as we live in the cosmos (that is, in the realm of the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil), we’ll always experience time and aging. Time depends on what we know and understand, and it’s tied to our beliefs and knowledge. That’s why a student of wisdom has to let go of their sense of time—in other words, let go of their ego—and raise their consciousness. This helps them move toward cosmic consciousness, which will gradually show them the way to Ein Sof (the infinite). In short, the journey to cosmic consciousness begins with prayer. Prayer is a mystical approach to life; it comes before words. But these days, words are important because they act as powerful channels.

The mind can’t understand the Spirit

The mind can’t understand the Spirit because the mind is always moving, while the Spirit is perfectly still. Think about it: The mind operates within time—like following the hands of a clock. Movement is life within time, and movement is what the mind is all about. The mind can’t exist in Emptiness, like in the third eye or in the purity of the heart, because there’s no movement there. The purity of the heart belongs to the soul, and the purity of the third eye (or pure thoughts) belongs to the Spirit. There’s no room for time, the mind, or any movement there. As long as there’s movement, the mind keeps working—planning for the future, creating big projects. But all of these projects are ultimately empty. And together with the mind, people also slow down their personal growth.

One exercise for total stillness:

1 exercise for total stillness: two to three minutes a day, sitting in an Egyptian pose (on a chair, feet together, hands on your knees), breathing very lightly, and being absolutely still. This calms the mind.

When the mind is purified through control and stillness and becomes completely quiet, it stops existing. This is when the student starts living more fully in their soul. The mind moves with the clock, but there comes a point where the time strikes zero—nothingness. This is a moment everyone will experience—the meeting with the Spirit, when the mind disappears. In that moment, there’s no time. It means that, eventually, everyone will come to know this Nothingness, which is their eternity, and begin to live in the Spirit. At some point, the clock hands will turn in such a way that the person experiences suffering, but that suffering will disappear over time.

They will transform and begin living in the Spirit. The most intense suffering comes at the zero point, where time ceases to exist. All thoughts and feelings vanish, and you fully enter your soul. If you are awake and have loved God, He draws you into His own depths. The zero is a circle, an occult symbol of perfection. It represents the end of a journey. From that zero point, true discipleship begins—it’s the start of the soul’s path in a new dimension.

An important point:

An important point: The zero is the position of the soul, of meditation. Prayer is movement, an important preparation for the mystery of the zero, for the mystery of life where the Spirit can be known, because in the zero, time stops. That’s why the Master talks about 12 o’clock or 0 o’clock—the sacred hour of the student, the hour of Wisdom. This means that from 0 o’clock onwards, the law of connection with the Spirit begins, and this is the key to inner development. Those who love Truth should try going to bed after one o’clock. From 12 to 1, they should begin with prayer, read a little, and spend more time thinking, meditating on the Master’s thoughts. This is a sacred time for union with the Word.

Zero hour

Zero hour is a call to something new. It’s the place of mystery, the place of stillness. At zero hour, the mind is at its most removed. There’s a kind of silence in the vibrations, which really helps the student with their work. The zero symbolizes the center of the circle. When you get to this place, you don’t need any thoughts or feelings because the zero stops all movement and reveals the Spirit at a new level, in a new dimension. (If it’s hard for you to stay up until 12 and work from 12 to 1, you can go to bed earlier and set an alarm to wake up just before midnight. This hour is a great treasure, a time dedicated to God. It’s the beginning of the day, where God arranges everything.

When you dedicate this time to God, your day unfolds differently, with a new approach. You encounter different forces, different people, and everything flows more smoothly because you’ve put God first. But if you put God second, He’ll place you second too, and sometimes this leads to misunderstandings, wasted time, and unnecessary conversations.) The zero also represents a big life test. During this test, your thoughts and feelings dissolve, and a new life begins in a place unknown to the mind.

The Flexible Nature of Time and Its Impact on Spiritual Growth

The unfolding of Love, Wisdom, and Truth will happen gradually over the long course of human development, after the time of the seven trumpets and seven bowls (as described in the Book of Revelation). Only then will John say, “And I saw a new heaven and a new earth, and the New Jerusalem descending from heaven, from God.” (The New Jerusalem represents the new human being.) In the sixth race, a group of initiates will emerge who will show the rest of humanity a new spiritual way of living. They’ll work with Love as a principle—a love with no exceptions.

This is not just about the inner cosmic circle of the Master but also about other Masters who will send their disciples, the initiates, to lead other people, societies, and nations on the new path of Love as a principle. These initiates will show the way and inspire others to follow. They’ll show the pure path. Without a pure path, no one can become spiritualized. This is all about the approach.
